Be ChildSafe

What does it mean to be ChildSafe?

Everyone can be ChildSafe! It requires an awareness of behaviors and activity that can be harmful to a child and knowledge of positive behaviors that will protect or prevent a child from being in a risky or abusive situation. With our ChildSafe referral system, you can report abusive situations to people who can help. Some examples of ChildSafe behaviors:
  • referring cases of abuse to the police;
  • don’t leave a child who had an accident alone, ensure that someone who know the child brings it to the nearest hospital; or
  • call the ChildSafe Hotline number for our team to respond and meet the child.
Become ChildSafe Certified!
The ChildSafe Network is also made up of certified members. These members include taxi-drivers, hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, internet café personnel, websites, local magazines and tour operators. These ChildSafe members have been selected, trained, tested, certified and are regularly monitored. These certified members are promoted throughout the ChildSafe network using social marketing tools and methods.

Support ChildSafe!
As a business or organization which has impact within the community but no direct contact to children, you can become a ChildSafe Alliance member. Being a ChildSafe Alliance member is a way of reaching out to the community through a trusted channel. In return, ChildSafe Alliance members help promote ChildSafe campaigns.
