Welcome to ChildSafe Switzerland

Switzerland welcomes millions of business and leisure travelers every year. Swiss people also travel frequently.

This is why we decided to implement the ChildSafe Network in Switzerland, to encourage all travelers to become involved in the protection of children while traveling.

The ChildSafe Network is made up of travelers, travel agencies and tour operators, foreign consulates, airlines and airports, media and others who share a common goal: improve the protection of vulnerable children in Switzerland and abroad. Every day, these members and supporters are helping us to strengthen the network, increasing the number of children being protected from all forms of abuse, especially from labor and sexual exploitation. The ultimate objective is to reach as many travelers as possible, raising their awareness about the difficulties children around the world are facing and encourage them to understand how they can be a positive influence during their travels by following the ChildSafe traveler tips.

By developing individual awareness, we hope that the ChildSafe philosophy on the protection of children will one day become a natural response for all travelers and members of society.

The ChildSafe Network program started in Switzerland in 2008.

The objective of the ChildSafe Network is to develop an extensive child protection network advancing community responsibility towards defending Child Rghts and protecting them from all forms of abuse. To achieve this objective in Switzerland, ChildSafe :
  • Selects, trains and certifies travel agencies, tour operators, consulates and companies to become ChildSafe members or corporations.
  • Develops partnerships with airlines and airports to extend the spread of the ChildSafe campaign for travelers.
  • Develops our presence on internet communities, in the press, on television and radio channels in order to encourage the largest number of persons to become involved.
  • Participates in large events and conferences catering to travelers.
Together, we can protect children.
