Phnom Penh, 22 November 2007:
During Water Festival, ChildSafe Hotline got a call from a street living boy who told them about a boy who had gotten lost in Phnom Penh. The boy came to Phnom Penh with his mother to join the boat racing at the Riverside on Water Festival. Then he met a street living boy who knows Mith Samlanh. After getting the call, the staff from outreach team went to take the boy to find his mother along the river side. Finally we met her at the river side and gave the son back to her. The mother and the child were very happy and grateful to Mith Samlanh staff. |

Phnom Penh, 18 November 2007:
After midnight there was a group of street living boys who were fighting. An 18 year-old boy was injured. So he called ChildSafe Hotline to help him. 5 minutes later 2 staff from Medical team went there and took that boy to the Municipal hospital where he received treatment. Mith Samlanh Medical team supported him until he was better. The boy decided to go back to live on the streets. Mith Samlanh outreach teams work with him on a regular basis and provide counseling and basic health care. |

Phnom Penh, 5 November 2007:
A 10-year old girl came alone from the province to Wat Phnom to beg for money. She met a sex worker girl there. The sex worker called ChildSafe Hotline to pick up the girl. After that we referred the case to Mith Samlanh’s Safe Migration team. The staff went to take the child to the Safe Migration Center and then referred to Placement team who reintegrated her back to her family. Placement team does regular follow-ups. |

Phnom Penh, 8 October 2007:
A street living girl went into labor. Her husband called ChildSafe Hotline to help his wife, because they don’t have money to pay for the Hospital. The hotline manager contacted a volunteer from life skills team to go and meet the girl and to take her to the Hospital. She delivered a baby boy. She had to stay at the hospital for few days but she is safe. The family decided to continue to live on the street. Mith Samlanh outreach team meets the family regularly and does counseling. |

Phnom Penh, 03 October 2007:
A 3 year old boy was found in front of Kunthabopha hospital. His mother left him there with a bag of his clothes. A neighbor saw him and called ChildSafe Hotline. The hotline manager contacted Outreach team to go there and to take the baby to Mith Samlanh’s Transitional Home where he stayed for a few days while the medical team checked on his health. Later on he was referred to Goutte ‘d eau organization in Phnom Penh. |

Phnom Penh, 25 September 2007:
A Safe Migration member saw an old lady trying to sell a little girl at Akreykhsat Port. The member approached her and after speaking with her for a while, called the ChildSafe Hotline to arrange help for the girl. Shortly after a Safe Migration team member arrived at the port with the police. The staff took the girl to the Safe Migration Center where she could safely stay until her parents were found. Only 2 hours later the girl’s parents arrived at the center to collect her. They were so happy to find their daughter and thanked the staff and the Safe Migration member who first noticed her at the port. |
